How many credit cards do you carry in your wallet? If you’re anything like the average American, you’ll be carrying about 3 to 4 credit cards. As a double-edged sword, the credit card can be a convenient financial tool that helps you make purchases (while earning you the occasional points or two), but when used irresponsibility, credit cards can also quickly become your worst financial nightmare. The infographic below takes a look at credit card usage and its corresponding debt loads across the country.

This is true because, I myself carry about 5 so I know for a fact that there are a lot of other billion of people that have this same habit.
USA is so different from Europe. In France and Belgium where I live, my entourage has an average of one or two credit cards (Visa and/or Mastercard), I’ve never met anyone with 3 or more credit cards.
I have decided to have no credit card because I know I wouldn’t use it wisely (When I like, I want to buy NOW, and often regret after), I only have a check card and I’m yet happy I can’t spend more than 500€/week with it; result: I have never had any debt and save a lot of money for my future.
Not everyone in the US is like that. There are probably people with ten plus, because so many people only have one (so for it to average four…)
Really informative! This is cool.
i just have one… :D
I carry 2. Thats a nice infographic you have up there. Love those things.
