ATT's GSM is fantastic. It is industry leading and really sets the bar high for its competitors. GSM is definitely the most advanced service provided in the retail cell phone industry. With the added benefits of ATT rollover minutes how can you not choose ATT.

I own a cell phone store and have been selling the AT&T service for many years now. I also am a previous owner of AT&T (formerly Cingular) phone and plan. I must say there are some obvious pros and cons of the service. The pros would be: 1) it has the biggest coverage area; 2) rollover minutes are a big PLUS; 3)you can get its service relatively easy; 4) GSM network; and 5) iPHONE. The cons would be: 1) AT&T’s plans and phones are expensive; 2) You need a two year contract (most cool phones come out every 6 months); 3) the phone selection can't even compare to phones in Asia and Europe; and 4) difficult to deal with customer service.

I feel that AT&T is a decent phone service. I feel that they have an outstanding coverage area where I think I can get decent reception and service from almost anywhere in the country. I also think that it is very cool that they have the exclusive rights to Apple's iPhone which is always a +. But I am not so happy with the customer service. They are sometimes very rude and not very understanding. They also have really high cancellation fees!(I had to pay $200 for cancelling my plan). Good company but can be better.

I live in the San Francisco area and it seems that with AT&T there is a lot of cut-off in the area. Recently I have been getting many dropped calls which is unfortunate because I own a business and I am constantly on the phone with customers and dropped call are annoying. ATT also has its pros though since you can use any unlocked phone(I have an unlocked stylish phone from Japan which I like alot.) I also feel that the ATT Edge is relatively fast and provides a decent connection with the Slingbox that I have.

Cingular has been advertising that they have the least amount of dropped calls. This is not true, i know of people that have brand new phones from cingular and are always dropping their calls and sometimes never even connect. Other than the rollover minutes(which is ingenious) there is nothing good about this network. You cant preview ringtones on your phone and they also dont have good music/video services like Verizon. If u like rollover go with Cingular because u wont be disappointed with this feature but if u dont, go with another company with many more features like Verizon.

AT&T has vastly improved its both coverage and reliability. I used to have Cingular before they merged with AT&T and I must say, I thought they were poor. However, I recently switched back after being convinced to change because of the fabled iphone, and the difference is night and day. The signal is much stronger and clearer and even the customer service has greatly improved.

I live in Southern California in the desert regions around Palm Springs and ATT provides me with excellent coverage that I had never gotten with T-Mobile or even Verizon. ATT really lives up to its name. They have a lot of high end phones with many functions that are very nice such as music, GPS, Live TV and even now touch screens. I have been a customer for many years now and I love it!!!

I like Cingular the best out of all the providers. I can actually make phone calls out of my house instead of walking outside to make a call (unlike T-Mobile). Sometimes customer service can be rude, but that's with all providers. I just renewed my contract with AT&T because of the quality they have. Their rates may be higher, but you get what you pay for. I really like the rollover minutes; it is something nobody else has.

I had T-Mobile for a while and I have had awful coverage in the mountains. I have sometimes wait up to an hour just to send ONE TEXT MESSAGE. Then I made the switch to AT&T because of the iphone and I love it. I get 4 bars of service wherever I go and now it only takes me like 5 seconds to send a message. GREAT SWITCH!

"HIDDEN CHARGES" That is the one thing that I hate about Cingular. I travel a lot for my job and my job requires me to be out of the country for sometimes up to 2 months a year. Right now I have a national plan which should allow me to roam outside of New York but the first time I traveled to the West Coast with Cingular I was slammed with roaming charges. And had I not called Cingular and cleared this up, I still would be charged for this. I also haven't been able to put my service on hold since I am out of the country for many stretches of the year with out being charged. If Cingular can clear up these hidden fees then I am confident they would attract more customers.

I hate the new AT&T. I had Cingular for many years and I feel that I have been shafted with the change. Quite frankly, I have had too many surprises. I get very high charges for the internet service that I never use(Customer Service says that it is very easy to access the internet from my phone). I finally decide to change my service and it cost me over $1200 dollars total. If I were you I would stay away.

Their phones are good. Their service personnel are idiots but at least they try to help. But the internet service I get on my phone sucks. I am two months into my contract and so far I am not so happy.
