This is completely misleading. After evaluating my current plan, billshrink says I would pay $500 less per year considering the AT&T plan of $39.99 plus taxes and fees. I'm paying almost $90 per month NOT USING MY CALLS AT ALL! I have more than 3,000 minutes in rollover because they don't have plans with less than 450 minutes per month and the number I call most often is AT&T (free mobile-mobile calls). The catch here is that I have an iPhone so I have to pay $39.99 plus $30 for the iPhone data plan, plus $10 for the texting plan (only 200 messages per month), plus taxes and fees. So, every month I pay almost 90 bucks for my phone. I use the data plan a lot and some texting, but it is insane to pay for a plan like this! Of course, we are no fools and we all know that the real deal for Apple and AT&T is making you commit for a 2-year plan while they advertise the iPhone as "very affordable". If you think about it, we end up paying around $2,000 in the mobile plan plus the iPhone (around $300). So in the end they recover all their money and much more... and what can you do? Nothing! Wait until you finish your 2-year contract to avoid any penalties.
